Abstract

As profits in the financial sectors are on the downturn, the interest in outsourcing of back office services to transaction banks has been steadily growing. Diminishing profit margins, decreasing transaction volumes coupled with rising costs due to new technologies and increased customer requirements leave universal banks to re-consider which part of the business they should concentrate on.
