Abstract

The drag W of a body in a flow parallel to the x-direction can be expressed by the momentum change of the flow if the body is fully immersed in the fluid. Flows with an infinite wake or semi-infinite bodies shall not be considered here.

Translated by H. Sockel from K. Oswatitsch, „Der Luftwiderstand als Integral des Entropiestromes“, Nachrichten der Akademie der Wissenschaften in Göttingen, Mathematisch-Physikalische Klasse, 1945, pp. 88-90.
