Zusammenfassung
Preis-Promotions sind aus dem Konsumgütermarketing nicht wegzudenken. Als Konsumenten kennen wir alle Sonderangebote und die sie begleitende Kommunikation: ,Nor-malerweise 3,99 €, diese Woche im Angebot für 2,99 €!’. Solche zeitlich befristeten Preissenkungen haben in Deutschland lange Zeit eine zentrale Rolle im POS-Marketing gespielt, während der Einsatz anderer Formen von Preis-Promotions durch das Rabattgesetz stark eingeschränkt war. Seit dem Fall dieses Gesetzes im Juli 2001 sind jedoch auch weitere Formen von Preis-Promotions rechtlich zulässig, und Hersteller und Handel haben mit ihrem Einsatz begonnen. Besonders prominent sind dabei Coupons, die sich inzwischen im Internet (z. B. bei ,www.couponweb.de’), im Handel (z. B. in Schlecker-Drogeriemärkten), in Printmedien (z. B. in der Beilage zur Bild am Sonntag ,Cent Plus’) oder in der Post (z. B. Kaufhof-Coupons für Payback-Kunden) finden.
