Zusammenfassung
Die Globalisierung von Unternehmen ist eingebettet in die Globalisierung ihrer Aufgabenumwelt. Dieser Prozess kann beschrieben werden als co-evolutionärer Prozess eines sozialen Systems in seiner Umwelt. Eine historische Betrachtung der Globalisierung des Wettbewerbs zeigt, dass diese als evolutionärer Prozess der Differenzierung und Integration von Unternehmen und Organisationsformen interpretiert werden kann. Dieser Prozess wird durch die abnehmende Bedeutung von Grenzen zusätzlich verstärkt. Es kann so eine „Verflüssigung des Wettbewerbs“ beobachtet werden, in deren Entwicklung eine zunehmende Anzahl autonomer wirtschaftlicher Akteure (dezentralisierte Einheiten multinationaler Unternehmen (MNU), kleine und mittelständische Unternehmen (KMU)) in unterschiedlichen kooperativen und kompetitiven Beziehungen zueinander stehen. Auf diese Weise entsteht ein „Netzwerkwettbewerb“, der auf einer zunehmenden Expansion und Dichte wirtschaftlicher und anderer sozialer Interaktionen beruht (Lübbe 1996, S. 46f). Der Netzwerkkompetenz auf globaler Ebene kommt so eine zentrale Bedeutung im Globalisierungsprozess von Unternehmen zu.
