Zusammenfassung
Die Polnische Republik gilt als ein Reformland mit hoher Transformationsdynamik und -tiefe, wenngleich es im Bereich der Privatisierung, insbesondere der großen Staatsunternehmen, in den letzten Jahren zu Verzögerungen kam, die durch das Privatisierungsprogramm vom Mai 1998 aufgeholt werden sollen.169 Rund 95% der Unternehmen sind privatisiert und erbringen einen Anteil am BIP (Bruttoinlandsprodukt) in Höhe von 66%. Mit einem für 1999 erwarteten Wirtschaftswachstum von 6,5% und den im Reformländervergleich höchsten kumulierten ausländischen Direktinvestitionen in Höhe von 30.651 Mio. USD verfügt Polen über günstige Entwicklungsoptionen, auch im Hinblick auf einen potenziellen Beitritt zur Europäischen Union (EU) entsprechend dem Verlauf des bisherigen Vorbereitungsprozesses.170
