Zusammenfassung
Betrachten wir zwei Glücksspieler, zwei Spieler in ihren Erwartungen. Der eine ist Balinese, der andere, sagen wir, aus New York. Der Balinese ist ein Hahnenkämpfer. Sein Leben lang hat er diese wilden Vögel aufgezogen, sie sind miteinander vertraut. Sie kämpfen sogar in seinen Träumen. Nachdem er sie gebadet, gefüttert und massiert hat, wählt er seinen Lieblingshahn aus und streichelt ihm, indem er ihn zwischen seinen Beinen hält, sorgfältig das Federkleid und denkt an den nächsten Kampf. Schließlich stellen wir ihn uns am Rande seines Dorfes vor, weit weg von Polizeipatrouillen, in Erwartung anderer Spieler, die ebenso darauf versessen sind, ihre Hähne in den Ring zu werfen.
