Zusammenfassung
Die Aufgabe der EDV-Organisation besteht darin, ein optimales, computerunterstütztes, entscheidungsorientiertes Informationssystem zu schaffen. Mit Hilfe eines solchen Informationssystems wird das Management mit Informationen versorgt, die eine Steuerung des Systems Unternehmen erlauben und marktmäßiges Überleben gewährleisten sollen. Im gesamten »Regelungssystem Unternehmen« stellt das Informationssystem mithin das Rückkopplungsglied dar. Um die Rückkopplung zu gewährleisten, werden im Informationssystem Daten verarbeitet. Das Ergebnis dieser Verarbeitung sind Informationen. Daten sind also das Rohmaterial und Informationen deren Produkt aus der Datenverarbeitung.
