Abstract

Formalized corporate planning systems are well established for the manage ment of large organizations. However, computer-based corporate planning models have met with mixed success. In some organizations, simulation models or optimization algorithms are well accepted and firmly embedded. In other organizations, simulation models and optimization algorithms have failed. Yet, it is clear that computer models offer unique capabilities to corporate planning.
