Zusammenfassung

Die „Association of South East Asian Nations“(ASEAN) wurde im Jahre 1967 gegründet. Gründungsmitglieder waren Indonesien, Malaysia, die Philippinen, Singapur und Thailand. Seitdem sind noch fünf weitere Länder der Gemeinschaft beigetreten: Dabei handelt es sich um Brunei (1984), Vietnam (1995), Laos und Birma (1997) sowie Kambodscha (1999).
