Abstract

The recent explosion of interest in consumer products based on fuzzy logic technology indicates a need for a new generation of microchips. Applications based on fuzzy logic need to implement complex algorithms [3, 12, 17, 18, 19, 34, 35, 42]. Some analogue and digital solutions leading to VLSI implementation of fuzzy units have been proposed during the last eight years. However, it appears to us that no real study resulting in the development of well-suited design techniques of fuzzy units has been published. This issue has been the leading idea of the work presented here.
