Zusammenfassung
Nach der Rekonstruktion des epistemologischen und methodologischen Programms soll nun untersucht werden, welche theoretischen Konstrukte Parsons in den verschiedenen Phasen des Erklärungsprogramms entwickelt hat. Im Hinblick auf den Stegmüllerschen Formalismus beschäftigen wir uns in diesem Kapitel vor allem mit der Menge der potentiellen Modelle und der expliziten Modelle und Nebenbedingungen. Dazu soll zunächst die Entstehung und Anwendung der paradigmatischen Instrumente während der frühen Phasen des Erklärungsprogramms untersucht werden. Den Prototyp eines paradigmatischen Instruments bilden die Pattern Variables, die Parsons im Rahmen der strukturell-funktionalen Theoriephase von einer Rollentypologie zu einem analytischen Instrument ausbaut. Durch die Anwendung der Pattern Variables zur Strukturierung verschiedener Handlungssysteme gelingt Parsons die Kodifikation struktureller Homologien zwischen den Handlungssystemen, die den Kern der normativen Interpenetration bilden. Damit entwickelt er explizite Nebenbedingungen im Stegmüllerschen Sinne auf Theorieebene.
