Zusammenfassung
Das Gewerkschaftsgesetz von 1945, das heute 8,8 Millionen organisierte Arbeitnehmer in der Privatwirtschaft erfaßt, garantiert das Recht des Arbeitnehmers, sich zu organisieren, Kollektivverhandlungen zu führen und sich der Mittel des Arbeitskampfes zu bedienen. Das Gesetz enthält keine Normen über die Art der gewerkschaftlichen Organisation. Praktisch hat sich aber in der Privatwirtschaft die Unternehmens- oder die Betriebsgewerkschaft allgemein durchgesetzt, im Gegensatz zu den sich auf einen ganzen Industriezweig erstreckenden Industriegewerkschaften und den berufsorientierten Fachgewerkschaften (craft unions).
