Zusammenfassung

In part I of this work the stresses and deformations arising in the case of plane strain in the various half-space models are delt with, and the appertaining publications are compiled. The rigid strip footing under centric load can stand on the half-space (t = 0), in the half-space (t≠0) or on a limited layer (d_s≠∞) By evaluating in form of tables of the equations given in the literature the application of which to the practice otherwise is too circumstantial, an easier handling has been achieved. Here especially the stress distributions σ_z, σ_x and τ_XZ under a rigid (Hruban) and a slack (Carothers) strip resp. under the characteristic point of a strip footing standing on the modified half-space (Fröhlich) are concerned as well as the settlement of a strip for different Poisson’s ratios (Steinbrenner).
