Local Mesh Enrichment for a Block Structured 3D Euler Solver

Summary

This article summarizes the work completed at C.E.R.F.A.C.S. in sub-task 2.5 of the BRITE/EURAM EuroMesh project concerning the mesh embedding method. An unstructured multi-block data environment is introduced to manage point enrichment on multiple levels for three-dimensional structured meshes. The local grid refinement technique has been incorporated into a finite volume program that solves the Euler equations. Flow adaption is utilized to cluster points automatically in domains of interest.
