Zusammenfassung
Photochemische Isomerisierungsreaktionen sind in der Natur weit verbreitet. Am bekanntesten ist die cis-trans-Isomerisierungsreaktion des Rhodopsins, die den Primärprozeß des Sehvorganges in der Netzhaut darstellt. Dabei ist der Chromophor 11-cis-Retinal als Schiffsche Base an die Aminosäure Lysin des Proteins Opsin gebunden (Opsin + 11-cis-Retinal = Rhodopsin).
