Zusammenfassung
Globalisierung definiere ich als Bündel differenzierter und differenzierender Prozesse ohne übergeordnete strukturierende Ordnung (Korff 1996). Daraus resultiert Ambivalenz. Diese zeigt sich u.a. im Vergleich von Europa und Südostasien. Während Globalisierung in Deutschland eher mit wirtschaftlichen und sozialen Problemen verbunden wird (Arbeitslosigkeit, Abbau des Sozialstaates, Einwanderungsproblematik etc.) wurden in Südostasien positive Wirkungen wie rapide Industrialisierung, Wirtschaftswachstum, Demokratisierung, Entstehung einer Mittelschicht (Kahn 1996) usw. betont.
