Zusammenfassung

Deutsche Soziologiekongresse schweigen darüber: Soziologie der Emotionen heute. Weder in Halle 19972 noch in Freiburg 19983 sind irgendwelche Sektionen, Arbeitsoder Ad Hoc-Gruppen auf diesem Gebiet zu finden. Beim Durchsehen von zwei deutschen Fachzeitschriften4 bestätigte sich der Eindruck, dass Emotionssoziologie in Deutschland eine hintergründige Rolle spielt. Dieser Zustand wird kontrastiert durch den guten Ruf, den die Soziologie der Emotionen in den USA und in Großbritannien genießt. Die amerikanische Soziologie der Emotionen wird zurückdatiert auf 1975 (Kemper 1990: 3f)5. Der amerikanische Soziologieverband hat eine emotionssoziologische Sektion seit Mitte der 1980er Jahre6 und der englische Soziologieverband seit 1989.
