Zusammenfassung
In der Bundesrepublik Deutschland ist das Geldvermögen privater Haushalte in den letzten Jahren stark angestiegen und lag Ende 1997 bei 5.343,8 Mrd. DM, während Ende 1991 noch ein Stand von 3.485,9 Mrd. DM zu verzeichnen war.1 Entsprechend hoch ist die Geldvermögensbildung deutscher Haushalte, die jährlich weit über 200 Mrd. DM beträgt. Vor dem Hintergrund dieses starken quantitativen Wachstums des angelegten Vermögens sowie einer zunehmenden Institutionalisierung des Portfolio-Managements ist das Interesse an einer Performance-Messung, die den relativen Anlageerfolg einer Kapitalanlage überprüft, in den letzten Jahren stark gestiegen. Untersuchungsgegenstand sind dementsprechend Wertpapierportfolios sowohl privater als auch institutioneller Investoren, wobei der Performance-Messung aufgrund der wachsenden Akzeptanz von Investmentfonds bei deren Leistungsbeurteilung besondere Bedeutung zukommt.
