Zusammenfassung

Organisationen weisen über Branchen und Ländergrenzen hinweg und trotz kultureller Unterschiede oft eine Vielzahl ähnlicher Strukturen und Handlungsmuster auf. Die zunehmende Internationalisierung und Globalisierung tragen zu ihrer raschen Verbreitung bei. Zugleich zeigen sich jedoch auch kultur- und landesspezifische Besonderheiten in den formalen Strukturen und in den Praktiken des alltäglichen Handelns in Organisationen. Bei näherem Hinsehen stellt man überdies fest, daß hinter gleichen Bezeichnungen von Praktiken ganz unterschiedliche Aktivitäten verborgen sind. So bedeuten Qualitätszirkel in Frankreich etwas anderes als in Deutschland, Reengeneering in den USA etwas anderes als in Rußland und Wissensmanagement in der öffentlichen Verwaltung etwas anderes als in IT-Unternehmen.
