Zusammenfassung
„Die neoklassische Theorie hat die Wirtschaftswissenschaft zur vorherrschenden Sozialwissenschaft gemacht, indem sie ihr ein diszipliniertes, logisch-analytisches Skelett gegeben hat. Die neoklassische Theorie aufzugeben hieße, Wirtschaftswissenschaften als Wissenschaft / aufzugeben.“1) Der Vorwurf ist hart, den Wittmann seinen betriebswirtschaftlichen Kollegen in seiner Frankfurter Abschiedsvorlesung macht, wenn er sie dazu aufruft, dieses Zitat von North zukünftig besser zu beherzigen.2) Und doch schien dieser Vorwurf — zumindest bis vor wenigen Jahren — berechtigt, wenn man die Verwendung des Instrumentariums der neoklassischen Theorie zum Maßstab der Wissenschaftlichkeit einer ökonomischen Analyse macht.
