Zusammenfassung

Die Lebewesen haben im Laufe der Evolution zelluläre Mechanismen entwickelt, mit denen sie in ihrem Erbgut entstehende Schäden zu einem gewissen Grade reparieren können. Eine Vielzahl physikalischer und chemischer Umwelteinflüsse sowie endogener Faktoren wirken — direkt oder indirekt — auf das genetische Material der lebenden Zellen ein und können die DNA in beliebigen Stellen schädigen, s. Abb. 23 a.
