Abstract
In Chapter X, we considered only the case of ionized gases in which the electromagnetic fields play a dominant role in the flow field of mixtures of gases and plasmas. In general, we may consider the mixture of gas, liquid and solid particles in which the electromagnetic fields play an important role if the gas is ionized, the liquid is electrically conducting and/or the solid particles are electrified. There are many two-phase flow problems in which the electromagnetic fields play an important role. For instance, in pollution problems, the electrostatic precipitation is an important problem. In fact, the atmospheric dust is normally charged so that dust will deposit on the ceiling. In the electrogasdynamic power generation, the charged particles are introduced into the gas flow and it is an interesting two-phase flow problem (cf. section 10). In the following sections, we shall discuss some of these problems.
