Zusammenfassung
Aus der komparativ-statischen Analyse, die im Zentrum der bisherigen Ausführungen stand, kann man zwar sehr viel lernen, doch sind viele offenkundige und drängende wirtschaftliche Probleme dynamischer Natur. Bei der Inflation, einem der am meisten erörterten ökonomischen Gegenwartsprobleme, handelt es sich im wesentlichen um ein dynamisches Problem. Inflation ist mehr als ein einmaliger Anstieg der Lebenshaltungskosten. Inflation stellt vielmehr eine andauernde Tendenz des Preisniveauanstiegs dar. Dieser Inflationstrend, eine immer wiederkehrende Erscheinung in modernen Industriegesellschaften, hat sich in den letzten Jahren als außerordentlich hartnäckig und resistent erwiesen. Kein marktwirtschaftliches System ist dagegen gefeit, und die Hohen Priester der Ökonomie können keine brauchbaren Lösungen anbieten, es sei denn, die bittere Pille einer ökonomischen Kontraktion soll geschluckt werden.
