Summary

The records of two tiltmeter stations in the seismic area of Friuli, NE Italy, have been analysed. Long-term tilts different at the two stations occur in directions parallel to local tectonic lines and are tentatively related to movements of underground waters. The values of short-term tilts recorded synchronously at both stations are seen to be related to the intensity of the seismic activity. Their directions however do not seem to be related to any directional parameter of the shocks.
