Vertikale Integration ist eine Diversifikationsstrategie der Zusammenfassung von zwei oder mehr Produktionsstufen bei gleichbleibender Produkt-Markt-Orientierung des Unternehmens1. Nach Gort2 ist eine Produktionsstufe gegeben, wenn eine separate Produktion sowohl technisch möglich als auch wirtschaftlich erfolgreich sein kann.
