Zusammenfassung

Um eine Verteidigungspolitik vollständig beurteilen zu können, genügt nicht nur die Kenntnis der internationalen und nationalen Umwelt, in die sie eingebettet ist. Zusätzlich muß auch die jeweilige theoretische Grundlage aufgezeigt werden. Die Gaullisten haben ihre theoretische Konzeption immer wieder durch die Person General de Gaulies zum Ausdruck gebracht. Am deutlichsten hat de Gaulle seine Konzeption von „nationaler Verteidigung“ in jener berühmten Rede im November 1959 vor der Militärakademie in Paris ausgesprochen.
