Thin layer activation technique and wear measurements in mechanical engineering

  • Chapter
Nuclear Physics Methods in Materials Research

Abstract

This contribution deals with the application of nuclear physics methods in mechanical engineering on solving wear problems during the development of modern engines. We want to describe a technique which has proved to be a valuable tool in industry and research and is used in several countries including the United Kingdom, the United States, the USSR, Poland, East and West Germany.
