Summary
Rhenium thin films were irradiated at RT with Ar+ (700KeV) and N+ (350KeV). With increasing ion fluence from 1012 to 2.1017 ions/cm2, an increase in Tc, ρo and cell volume is observed. Annealing behaviour of irradiated films is also studied in isochronal cycles in the temperature range between 300K and 1275K. In this temperature range Tc is found to decrease to the original values whereas ρo does not anneal completely. Results are compared with those of plastically deformed and neutron irradiated Re single crystals.
