Abstract
The choice of the Mach µkernel as an underlying environment for the LD scheme is of particular importance. A practical LD scheme should be implemented on a widely used and sufficiently sophisticated operating system, such as Mach. It is a widely used µkernel in both research and commercial communities. Its architecture supports the sophisticated enhancements that are significant for the LD design and implementation.
