Zusammenfassung
Es gibt eine Vielzahl von Wegen, die zu atomaren Katastrophen führen können. Unter einer atomaren Katastrophe ist zu verstehen, daß auf einer großen Fläche (neben anderen Zerstörungen) eine starke radioaktive Strahlung wirkt, so daß viele Menschen sterben oder strahlenkrank werden und chronische Gesundheitsschäden auf Jahre und Jahrzehnte hinaus erleiden. Die Chancen einer Verhinderung und Linderung atomarer Katastrophen sind je nach Szenario im zivilen und militärischen Bereich äußerst verschieden.
