Abstract
When being executed a PEARL program uses and changes among other objects integers, reals, bit strings, character strings, clocks and durations. These problem data occur in form of constants or as values of variables. Constants identify themselves by their writing (see part I, 2.2) and maintain their value during the complete execution of the program. Variables refer to data (their values), which can change during the execution of the program.
