Zusammenfassung
Angesichts tiefgreifender volks- und weltwirtschaftlicher Strukturwandlungen hängt die Wettbewerbsfähigkeit deutscher Unternehmen zunehmend von ihrer Fähigkeit ab, technologisch hochwertige neue Produkte und Verfahren zu entwickeln und am Markt durchzusetzen. Dementsprechend sind in der Bundesrepublik Probleme des Managements von technologischen Innovationen, die als notwendige Voraussetzung zur Erhaltung der Wettbewerbsfähigkeit eines Unternehmens anzusehen sind, in den letzten Jahren zum vielbeachteten Gegenstand politischer und wissenschaftlicher Überlegungen geworden (Gahlen et al. 1985; Kieser 1985). Die Intensivierung der Diskussion über “Innovation und Wettbewerbsfähigkeit” sollte jedoch nicht darüber hinwegtäuschen, daß die beiden Leitbegriffe in dieser Diskussion oft nur als unscharfe, abstrakte Schlagworte verwendet werden, ohne daß empirisch fundiert Ursachen der unterschiedlichen Innovativität von Unternehmen analysiert wurden. Ideal typisch können einer derartigen Ursachenanalyse zwei verschiedene Basisperspektiven zugrunde gelegt werden:
