Zusammenfassung

In den letzten Jahren hat das World-Wide Web (WWW) eine starke Verbreitung im akademischen wie auch im kommerziellen Bereich gefunden. Auch wenn das WWW ursprünglich primär zur Informationsverteilung gedacht war, läßt es sich ebenfalls zur Unterstützung von Kooperations-anwendungen einsetzen. Insbesondere ist es dabei von Vorteil, daß das WWW im Prinzip hardware- und betriebssystemunabhängig ist, ein leicht zu bedienendes User Interface besitzt und relativ einfach in die existierende Kommunikationsinfrastruktur von Organisationen zu integrieren ist.
