Zusammenfassung
Um ein Ziel zu erreichen, modifizieren wir kontinuierUch unser Verhalten auf der Basis fortlaufender Erfahrungen und Eindrücke (Jeannerod, 1997). Diese Flexibilität unseres Verhaltens ist eine zentrale Komponente höheren Bewußtseins. Das Verfolgen unserer Absichten und das Beobachten der sich daraus ergebenden Konsequenzen ermöglicht es uns, zwischen Ereignissen, die wir selber verursachen, und Ereignissen, die von der Umwelt verursacht auf uns einwirken, zu unterscheiden (Frith, 1992).
Dieser Beitrag berichtet Forschungsergebnisse, die am Wellcome Department of Cognitive Neurology, London, erarbeitet wurden. An der Vorbereitung, Durchführung und Auswertung der Studien waren John C. Marshall (Oxford), P.W. Halligan (Oxford), Chris D. Frith (London), Jon Driver (London), Richard S.J. Frackowiak (London) und Raymond J.
