Im ersten Kapitel haben wir in intuitiver Weise einige Gruppen kennengelernt, die allesamt in irgendeiner Form mit der Geometrie zu tun gehabt haben. Sie ordnen sich alle dem Begriff einer abstrakten Gruppe unter, den wir nun mathematisch präzise, d. h. durch Axiome, formulieren.
