Zwar lassen sich Gewichte, Entfernungen o. ä. durch reelle Zahlen quantifizieren, doch gibt es auch viele Größen, die sich nicht mit einer Zahl allein beschreiben lassen. Man benötigt häufig eine Kombination mehrerer Zahlen.
