Zusammenfassung
Erkenntnis basiert bekanntlich auf Unterscheidungen. Man trennt das eine vom anderen und verwendet dazu Begriffe, die dann Hypothesen und Theorien als Bausteine dienen. In der sich seit Anfang der 60er Jahre entfaltenden Disziplin des strategischen Managements ist eine der ältesten und einflussreichsten Unterscheidungen die zwischen Inhalt (Strategy Content) und Prozess (Strategy Process). Sie wurde durch die Arbeiten von Chandler (1962), Ansoff (1965), und Andrews (1971) in den wissenschaftlichen Diskurs eingeführt, konnte sich dort als Leitdifferenz etablieren und prägt noch heute maßgeblich die disziplinäre Entwicklung.
