Abstract
As the competitive environment grows more fierce, organizations are responding by changing systems that affect their most valuable asset — their people. Human Resource management systems which determine what is expected from individuals, how objectives should be accomplished, and how individuals will be recognized and rewarded are undergoing major transitions. We are moving from discussions of forms to discussions of integrated organizational processes. Performance appraisal and the management of performance are powerful tools that can lead an organization to win on the competitive playing field.
