Die Bedienung und Überwachung chemischer Produktionsanlagen, die oft räumlich verzweigt sind, kann den Einsatz einer Gruppe von Arbeitern unter Führung eines „Erstmannes“ oder „Schichtführers“ erfordern. Derartige Gruppen sind in der Praxis 2 bis 20 Mann stark.
