Ein Vergleich zwischen vier Nationen

Antisemitismus in der politischen Kultur nach 1945

Zusammenfassung

Bei der Analyse des Antisemitismus in westlichen Gesellschaften ist es wichtig, zwischen verschiedenen Formen der Feindseligkeit gegenüber Juden zu unterscheiden, denn wird die Form falsch bestimmt, kann das Phänomen mißverstanden werden. Daher scheint es angebracht, mit einigen theoretischen Vorbemerkungen zu beginnen (einige der folgenden Argumente werden in Weil 1983 weiterentwickelt). Wir können drei Formen der Feindseligkeit gegenüber Juden unterscheiden: (a) „traditionelles“ Volksvorurteil und religiöse Diffamierung; (b) „modernen“ nationalistischen Rassismus und Ethnozentrismus oder politischen Antisemitismus; und (c) Feindseligkeiten, die aus einem direkten Konflikt zwischen Gruppen entstehen, meistens Streitigkeiten über materielle Güter, doch manchmal auch über politische Zielsetzungen, insbesondere dort, wo Juden die Assimilation an nationale Gesellschaften gesucht oder erreicht haben.
