Man folgt hier Kenneth J. Arrow: Aspects of the Theory of Risk Bearing. Helsinki 1965, S. 33; vgl. auch ders.: Essays in the Theory of Risk-Bearing. Amsterdam - London 1970, S. 92–94.
K. J. Arrow: The Role of Securities in the Optimal Allocation of Risk-bearing. In: Review of Economic Studies, Vol. 31 (1964), S. 91–96, eine frühere Fassung erschien bereits 1953; vgl. auch GérardDebreu: Theory of Value. J. Hirshleifer. Investment Decision under Uncertainty: Choice-Theoretic Approaches. In: The Quarterly Journal of Economics, Vol. 79 (1965), S. 509–536; ders.: Investment Decision under Uncertainty: Applications of the State-Preference Approach. In: The Quarterly Journal of Economics, Vol. 80 (1966), S. 252–277.

Vgl. Robert J. Aumann: Utility Theory without the Completeness Axiom.
