Zusammenfassung
Die Therapie mit Neuroleptika/Antipsychotika steht in engem Zusammenhang mit der Dopamin-Hypothese schizophrener Erkrankungen. Bei schizophrenen Psychosen liegt eine Überfunktion dopaminerger Strukturen des zentralen Nervensystems (ZNS) vor. Anhand der Neuroanatomie bestehen vier wesentliche dopaminerge Bahnen im zentralen Nervensystem, wodurch sowohl die therapeutischen Effekte als auch die Nebenwirkungen der Neuroleptika vermittelt werden können (siehe Abb. 30).
