Benchmarking in the Area of Planar Shape-Preserving Interpolation

  • Chapter

Abstract

This paper contains a representative sample of the benchmarking activity of FAIRSHAPE in the area of Shape-Preserving Interpolation. Four (4) partners of the project, namely the Universities of Dundee (UK), Florence (IT) and Zaragoza (SP), as well as the National Technical University of Athens (GR), have tested their algorithms for planar shape-preserving interpolation against two (2) academic and ten (10) industrial data sets. The outcomes of the algorithms are presented, in tabular and graphical form, and compared on the basis of a set of fairness measures, which were agreed upon at the 2nd Internal Workshop of FAIRSHAPE (Berlin, August 1995).
