Zusammenfassung
Die Einführung von TQM und der damit verbundene Übergang von einer fertigungsorientierten zu einer verbraucherbezogenen Qualitätsauffassung hat für jede Unternehmung weitreichende Konsequenzen. In diesem Zusammenhang kommt es jedoch weniger auf die Details der Formulierung an, als auf die Tatsache, daß der Verbraucher zum Ziel aller Bemühungen wird. Ob „fitness for use“, ob ASQC1 oder japanische Formulierung2, die Zufriedenheit des Kunden muß im TQM-Konzept an erster Stelle stehen. Die sich daraus ergebende, umfassende Aufgabe läßt sich jedoch mit einer Abteilung Qualitätssicherung im alten Stil kaum bewerkstelligen, die Qualität ausschließlich als technische Aufgabe ansieht und die meisten interfunktionalen und sozialen Elemente außer acht läßt.
