Am 26. Januar 1990 eröffnete die Deutsche Terminbörse GmbH den Optionshandel auf 14 Aktienwerte. Ganz im Gegensatz zum amerikanischen Terminhandel vollzieht sich der Handel nicht an einer Präsenzbörse, sondern in Form einer Computerbörse.
