Zusammenfassung

Als der Zusammenschluss der schwedischen ASEA mit der Schweizer BBC gleichzeitig auf zwei Pressekonferenzen in Stockholm und Baden (Schweiz) verkündet wurde, war die Überraschung vollkommen. Branchenanalysten wussten zwar, dass ASEA bereits seit einiger Zeit nach einem geeigneten Akquisitionskandidaten Ausschau gehalten hatte. Aber der Umfang des größten grenzüberschreitenden Zusammenschlusses seit der Fusion zwischen der Royal Dutch Petroleum Company und Shell Transport and Trading übertraf alle ihre Vorstellungen.

Mit jedem Jahr, in dem es mit ASEA aufwärts ging, ging es mit BBC bergab.
