Zusammenfassung
Lange Zeit dominierte das Einstellungskonstrukt die Erklärungsansätze in der Marketingforschung relativ unangefochten. Allerdings wurde schon frühzeitig thematisiert, dass die multiattributiven Einstellungsmodelle bei der Vorhersage des Markenwahlverhaltens nützlich sind, nicht aber erklären können, warum Konsumenten Produktattribute unterschiedlich bewerten und von daher eine bestimmte Marke einer anderen vorziehen (vgl. Vinson, Scott & Lamont 1977 S. 45). Zahlreiche Marketingwissenschaftler wandten sie sich daher der Werteforschung zu, als Rokeachs (1968, 1973) Arbeiten zum menschlichen Überzeugungssystem und zur Wertemessung dieses Konstrukt für die interdisziplinäre verhaltenswissenschaftliche Forschung populär machten.
