Zusammenfassung
Betrachtet man die deutschsprachige Controllingforschung, so fällt zum einen auf, dass generell wenig empirische Forschung betrieben wird. Zum anderen konzentrieren sich die vorhandenen empirischen Arbeiten meist auf die formalen und institutionalen Aspekte von Controlling. Vereinfacht lassen sich dabei vier primäre Forschungsschwerpunkte ausmachen:1

Erhebungen zu den Aufgaben bzw. Aufgabenfeldern, die Controllingbereichen in der Praxis zugeordnet warden2,
-
Erhebungen zum Berufsbild des Controllers und zu den geforderten Qualifikationen von Controllern, insbesondere durch Analysen von Stellenanzeigen3,
-
Erhebungen zur Verortung von Controllingbereichen in der Formalstruktur von Organisationen4 sowie
-
einige Untersuchungen zur Effizienz von Controllingsystemen5.
