Zusammenfassung
Die Grenzen von Unternehmen sind in ständigem Fluss. Schlagworte wie ’Outsourcing’, ’Deconstruction of value chains’2 oder ’Konzentration auf Kernkompetenzen’ sind allenthalben von Managern, Beratern und Journalisten zu hören und zu lesen und stehen für die Tendenz zu noch ’schlanker’ werdenden Unternehmen.3 So fiel die durchschnittliche Zahl der Angestellten in ’Fortune 500’-Unternehmen von 16.018 im Jahr 1973 auf 13.100 im Jahr 1983 und betrug wiederum zehn Jahre später nur noch 10.136.4
