Zusammenfassung
Die vorteilhafte Abstimmung mit der Unternehmensumwelt sowie der Aufbau und die Ausschöpfung unternehmensinterner Erfolgspotentiale bestimmen den Erfolg von Unternehmen. Im Strategischen Management besteht somit ein Spannungsfeld zwischen der marktorientierten Sicht der Unternehmensfiihrung, die die konsequente Ausrichtung der Unternehmensaktivitäten auf die — oft hochdynamische — marktliche Umwelt fordert, und der seit geraumer Zeit stärker ins Blickfeld gerückten ressourcenorientierten Sicht (resource-based view (RBV)) der Unternehmensfiihrung. Diese führt den Unternehmenserfolg vor allem auf die Existenz einzigartiger Ressourcen zurück, auf deren Gestaltung sich die Unternehmensführung folglich in erster Linie zu konzentrieren habe.1 Das hieraus resultierende Spannungsfeld offenbart sich in der skeptischen Einschätzung von Porter: „The resource-based view will have the greatest significance in environments where change is incremental...“.2
